Today I wanted to diverge from our typical running and fitness talk to another hobby of mine, Homebrewing. Some of you may already know, but for those of you who don't, I am getting my feet wet in the brewing of beer. So far, I've completed four batches, two of which don't completely suck, and one of which is actually pretty good.
With that, I am always looking for ideas of what to brew next. I plan on starting another batch of American Bock tomorrow, which was widely accepted and appreciated. I will have a day off and some extra time coming up, so I want to start another brew too! I got a sweet wort-chiller for christmas which will help me speed up the process, and I'm very excited to get to work with it.
This leads me to a general curiosity of what styles of beer people like? What is your favorite brew, favorite company, or even favorite overall style? I am pretty curious as to what people think is good.
Oh, and I plan on rolling out some new labels for my beer!
Note: Utica Club, Coors Light, Budweiser are all unacceptable answers.
Audrey looks like she’s had some bock to drink!
OH MY GOD. RA RA
My mom bought my husband a beer making kit for Christmas, so we are excited to get into some home brewing in between running too!
Personally, I’m more of a brown and stout beer fan. We have a lot of local microbreweries (in Albuquerque) that make some pretty respectable batches.
Very cool! That is exactly how I got started, my wife got me a starter set for Christmas last year.
Hopefully you can tolerate “the smell” better then my wife can… she can’t stand when I throw in the hops. Personally I hardly notice it.
I think the American Bock I just finished would be right up your alley. It drinks just like a nut-brown ale. Not overpoweringly roasty, but has good body to it.
