First, I’d like to give a big shout of congratulations to Jon and Ellie, who, over the weekend, both set PRs at their Freezer 5k! That’s great, guys! It’s nice to know that there is always something to work for--always another goal that can be reached!

In Adrienne-related-training news: Remember last week, when I was like “oh, I’m not going to let my new routine disrupt my running schedule, blahblah, I’m better than that, blahblah”? Well, despite the best intentions, and a few half-honest efforts, I completely set myself back a week. I skipped two runs and had a generally off-week. I went from quitting my job, thinking I was unemployed, to picking up hours at an old job--working more than full time at Boston’s finest day spa. All of a sudden I am working until 8 or 8:30, my sleep schedule is confused, my diet is horrendous, and I feel absolutely miserable. On the bright side, my unhappy insides are a great reminder of why I exercise, and how great it feels to challenge yourself physically on a daily basis. But, getting back to that point has proved a bit harder than I’d like to admit. I’m back to feeling like there just isn’t enough time in the day, and I’m getting very frustrated.

Two skipped runs does not mean I will never run again, and I tend to use missed workouts as an excuse to miss more. I will not! I’m hitting up the treadmill later today!

The countdown to Christmas is winding down. With just a week left, I’m getting pretty excited. I hope everyone is getting ready, finishing up their last-minute shopping, and getting in a few more viewings of “Love Actually”--because it is a perfect movie.

Have a great Tuesday, Fat Nerds! I’m off to see “The Hobbit,” because quitting your day job means matinee movies.
