Here at 2 Fat Nerds, each Wednesday is a Weigh-In day, where all of the data from the previous week is collected, displayed, and analyzed. Let’s see what data was submitted this week!
Each week, members who have opted to have their weights publicly displayed for the world to see have them graphed on the main blog. It is a great way to keep track over time, and it gives a bit more accountability to your workouts. If you are interested, leave a comment!
As always, if you would like to get in on the weight-loss game, leave a comment or email me and we can get you going!
Anti-fat points (AFP) is a system designed to give some sort of value to each and every workout, regardless of type. It is based on metabolic-equivalent values out of the compendium of physical activities. Submit a workout, get AFP. Each week we post the totals for each person for the week. In addition, you may see the monthly AFP leaderboard on the right-hand sidebar. This is meant to be a fun way to encourage competition to see who can earn the most points!
Major shout out to the people really throwing it down this week! There are several people that are doing fantastic work, keep it up guys. The new threshold is back to 100 AFP, Green is over and Red is under. Try to get 100 AFP and turn your bar green!
The Chain Game is a fun little system we came up with to see how many consecutive weeks a person can complete a minimum of three days of workouts. Every week in a row that a person completes the three-day goal, he or she adds one link to his or her active chain. For more information see this post!
Awesome job everyone. Lots of 52 week chains, I'm calling it now.
The Biggest Loser
Last thursday I talked about a new Biggest Loser challenge. Read up on the post here.
Here are the results from week 1.
Congrats to Dave for earning the Biggest Loser title for Week 1 with a total percentage weight loss of 1.82%. There are a few data points missing in the middle of the graph, so as they are reported I'll update the graph. I don't think many people will pass Dave though.
Another 261 kilometers are added to our Trek, putting us further along the path to home.
My AFP this week does not correlate with my % of weight loss. This is BS! Dave is the winner of weight loss this week, however, only logged like 25 AFP… Totally not fair! 😉 Nice work Dave! Maybe the key to weight loss is to go to Tavern at the End of the World and drink Milk Stouts 🙂
Milk stouts are usually the secret.
This is such good motivation! I’ve never seen my weight loss (or gain) as a percentage before. That’s really cool to think that I’ve lost almost one percent of myself. Weird!
It really does put it into perspective. I have to lose nearly twice as much weight to equal your percentage loss! 1 pound to my 1.75! Jealous
I just added my most recent weigh-in! Sorry for being late, I promise to do it first thing next week! p.s. for those of you who don’t know I’m Gracie’s friend from upstate NY and she’s totally gotten me into this and I’m psyched.
Not a problem at all! I’ll update all the graphs first thing tomorrow morning! Stoked to have you on board
I am enjoying the graphs and the competition aspect. It is a great way to start again after not being able to exercise much for too many reasons. I am motivated to achieve anti fat points.
I’m glad you are enjoying it! It is funny how some arbitrary reward can actually help make a difference sometimes. I’m happy to have you on board with the project!
