Here at 2 Fat Nerds, each Wednesday is a Weigh-In day, where all of the data from the previous week is collected, displayed, and analyzed. Let’s see what data was submitted this week!
Weight Loss
Each week, members who have opted to have their weights publicly displayed for the world to see have them graphed on the main blog. It is a great way to keep track over time, and it gives a bit more accountability to your workouts. If you are interested, leave a comment!
Some of you may notice a bit of a difference in this graph. I now am graphing the monthly-average weight for each person, rather then every single data-point. I think it is easier to see the trends in weight by taking the monthly average, and unclutters the graph a bit too.
As always, if you would like to get in on the weight-loss game, leave a comment or email me and we can get you going!
Anti-Fat Points
Anti-fat points (AFP) is a system designed to give some sort of value to each and every workout, regardless of type. It is based on metabolic-equivalent values out of the compendium of physical activities. Submit a workout, get AFP. Each week we post the totals for each person for the week. In addition, you may see the monthly AFP leaderboard on the right-hand sidebar. This is meant to be a fun way to encourage competition to see who can earn the most points!
Seemed to be a mixed-result week. Lets pick it up. The threshold is back to 100 AFP, Green is over and Red is under. Try to get 100 AFP and turn your bar green!
The Chain-Game
The Chain Game is a fun little system we came up with to see how many consecutive weeks a person can complete a minimum of three days of workouts. Every week in a row that a person completes the three-day goal, he or she adds one link to his or her active chain. For more information see this post!
As always, if not all the data has been submitted, I'll update this graph periodically throughout the week!
The Biggest Loser
Last thursday I talked about a new Biggest Loser challenge. Read up on the post here.
Here are the results from week 2.
To help describe this graph: The light blue bar represents this past weeks change from the previous weeks weight. For instance, I gained .4 pounds, showing a small gain in light blue. This adds on to my gain from last week, making my dark-blue bar more into the negative.
The winner of this week is Patrick, who posted a ridiculous weight-loss total. Keep it up and you will be earning the 2FNS swag! I am very impressed by how many people have consistently lost the first two weeks, very exciting to see.
Map!
Another 219 kilometers are added to our Trek back to Buffalo. Hello Bismark!
I am confused, Linda is above the line but she is red? Is she over or under?! Inquiring minds want to know!
She is over actually! Every time I clicked to recolor excel disagreed with me… so I gave up.
… I think I might be doing something wrong… I thought I signed myself up for the challenge, but my percentage isn’t on the graph… Is there a separate weigh-in for the challenge? I’m confused. And new to the site. Sorry guys!
Oh wait I’m dumb. I was looking at the week 1 graphs. Ignore me 🙂
Ya you are kicking butt too!
Hey thanks! 🙂
I am glad this is a multi week challenge. On one hand I am in it to win, but on the other hand it is really hard to increase exercise and cut calories at the same time. Right now it’s fitness and eating enough to not be hungry. Sometime soon I will have to switch into counting mode and be willing to be hungry at times if I want to win. Of course, consuming a minimum of 1600 calories a day means I am not actually going to be starving, it just feels like it.
