Here at 2 Fat Nerds each Wednesday is a Weigh-In day, where all of the data from the previous week is collected, displayed, and analyzed. But before we analyze the data, some housekeeping notes to take care of.
First , I want to welcome several new members, including Kas and Lucas. Welcome aboard guys! Let me know how much of your data if any you want displayed, and if you want to be graphed in the percentages chart. I'm excited to see new faces get in on the act!
Second, Thanks to Adrienne who has stepped up and provided some great posts this week. She is going to be taking a much more active roll running this blog, so I hope you can all offer her the same encouragement you all gave me!
Lets get this going!
September-October Challenge
Please leave a comment with your updated measurements! If you want them to be kept private for any reason, leave a comment and i’ll make arrangements!
- Total Pushup Count until fatigue
- Total Chin-Up Count until fatigue (if assisted mark what pound assisted with)
- Total Plank Time in seconds
- Total Squats within a one minute window.
Weight Loss
Each week, members who have opted to have their weights publicly displayed for the world to see have them graphed on the main blog. It is a great way to keep track over time, and it gives a bit more accountability to your workouts. If you are interested, leave a comment!

Adrienne wanted to post a before picture at the start of her journey. She is here, left, with her besty. (Do people still say that?)
Lets dig in to her personal results first. From her heaviest, she has already lost 10lbs. To start, she set two goals, one short term of being sub 190, and the second being her ultimate goal of being 140.
Now for the percentages from everyone for the week!
Congrats to Laura who posted a fantastic number again! Also to Pat and Dave .. really everyone did great!
Anti-Fat Points
Anti-fat points (AFP) is a system designed to give some sort of value to each and every workout, regardless of type. It is based on metabolic-equivalent values out of the compendium of physical activities. Submit a workout, get AFP. Each week we post the totals for each person for the week. In addition, you may see the monthly AFP leader-board on the right-hand sidebar. This is meant to be a fun way to encourage competition to see who can earn the most points!
Dad's true competitor came out with a last-week of the month burst to overtake Pat. I feel a grudge match coming on in October.
The threshold is back to 100 AFP, Green is over and Red is under. Try to get 100 AFP and turn your bar green!
The Chain-Game
The Chain Game is a fun little system we came up with to see how many consecutive weeks a person can complete a minimum of three days of workouts. Every week in a row that a person completes the three-day goal, he or she adds one link to his or her active chain. For more information see this post!
As always, if you were slow to get data in, your chain will be re-instated!
Hmm. I ended up not counting several days while I dealt with some health stuff, so I declared it a success to stay exactly even. Maybe you need to rerun your chart?
Short-term and long term goals are a good idea – I took a similar approach. Though try not to over-celebrate the short-term goal with food (giant, delicious steak) like some idiot I know did.
Way to be cheap with the moral support Jono.
