An article on NPR today pointed out a nice feature in Google search that I had previously been unaware of. It directly compares two food items given by a fairly simple search: "compare Banana vs Orange"
I am surprised by the variety of food items they have, including hamburgers vs cheesecake, or fries vs asparagus. The possibilities are endless (not really because a few searches I used didn't work).
Honestly, at the end of the day I'm not really sure about how useful this feature really is, but it is kind of amusing and I could see it handling weird dinner stand offs about the calorie content of beloved foods . . . or something. If there's a way to possibly compare name brand items then that might be helpful, like directly comparing two name brand beers.
Anyways, I always love finding new Google tools that aren't really main stream, regardless of how seemingly pointless they are!

Saw this on a blog and thought it could be useful to some 🙂 I love Google too
Jade was JUST showing me this earlier today! We did “spinach vs kale” and it was interesting to see the differences. I had considered them pretty much comparable because, to me, they are both dark, leafy greens and those are good for you. Knowing that there is way more iron in spinach but way more protein in kale kind of puts things into perspective. And I think I’m just going to have to eat more of both.
Ellie, Try Susan’s Kale Smoothie. It has both kale and spinach and it really is very good! I’ve been drinking one three times a week since the blog, because once you buy the ingredients you might as well eat it before it goes bad.
Green smoothies scare me! I do want to try it though . . . I might have to close my eyes.
