Yesterday was the second session of Ultimate Frisbee in the park this season, and it was an absolute blast. We had an awesome turnout of eleven people, which made it quite a lot of fun. The wind also cooperated, unlike week 1.
I'd be lying if I said I forgot over the winter just how fun it was to play a game with friends that required physical activity, because honestly I have been looking forward to getting back to playing since the end of last season. I loved it then, and I love it even more this year. After a long day at work, running around and having fun is a great stress release.
Yesterday was also particularly exiting because Erika, who is a regular in the Frisbee group and hosts a blog about her own weight-loss path, had some very exciting news. She just entered into ONEderland! For those of you who don't know, it's when people cross into the under-200-pound category, which is a major, major milestone. Congrats, Erika!
I highly encourage anyone who is interested in a for-fun-only frisbee game show up and play with us. It is about as low-stress and low-pressure as you can get while playing a team sport. There is no overbearing organization and no obligation, and it's completely free!
And if you really don't want to play . . . come watch and hang out with Audrey!!
Such a pleasant surprise to see a shout out! Thank you so much Jon! You have been such a huge support through this! Thank you for being such a good friend and role model 😀
Erika, I am just sitting at work now reading your entire blog. Your journey is so inspiring! Awesome job!
I have been blown away by your progress and dedication — plus your blog is an awesome read! As long as you are on my frisbee team I’ll be happy! I can’t handle another person running all over the place whopping my butt!
I’m truly excited for you, and now for Laura too!
I’m so excited for frisbee this year!! And thanks Jon! I think it is so awesome how far you have come. I know that I didn’t know you before but Erika has told me about your weight loss journey and your running and it’s really inspiring! Hopefully soon I won’t have to “rechage” after hitting the sprint button. lol. I can’t think of a better/more fun way to exercise.
