One of my most favorite things to do in Buffalo occurs only in winter. When the city is blanketed in a fresh coat of powder, I pull out my cross-country skis and head out into the fray.
By now I am sure most of you have heard about what is going on in Buffalo right now. If you haven't, that is impressive.
Western New York has been invaded by the Lake Erie Monster. This means one thing, besides an incredibly difficult commute for my wife and three days of class cancellations and work closures for me ; Go Go Urban Skiing!
Going through the parkways, saying hello to the snowshoers and dog walkers, laughing at the stares of people passing by in their cars going 5 miles per hour . . . too much fun.
Apparently I am incredibly slow on skis . . . But hey, that doesn't matter. It is a blast, and if anyone wants to join me, let me know!
