This past weekend my parents, Ellie and I drove out to surprise Adrienne in Ann Arbor. It was the first time we were able to sneak out for a weekend and visit, and I think it is safe to say we were all surprised at how awesome it was!
Adrienne completely under-sold how cool the downtown area is. It was a very walkable little community with a nicely laid out grid featuring a ton of boutique shops and awesome looking restaurants. We had dinner at an awesome brewpub called Grizzly Peaks. Their bear was legit, which doesn't surprise me having had a few brews from other breweries in Michigan.
It was amazing how much a town can be built off of a major university. They had stores all throughout downtown selling Wolverine swag, and I halfway joked that the students working their were probably work-study.
Overall, it was a great weekend and a ton of fun. We will for sure be heading back when the weather is a little bit warmer so we can some of the outdoor attractions the area has to offer!
