There are twenty days left to get my ass into half-marathon shape. After a weekend filled with family and friends in Boston, I am ready to make the final push towards the finish line and work off some of the bachelor party beer weight.
We have only one truly long run left this coming weekend, which will be 12 miles. That distance is a little daunting, but I know we can manage it. After the ten-mile run, which was . . . interesting, I have a bit more confidence that we will be able to complete the race, though slower than are previous half-marathon races.
For whatever reason, this training block hasn't gone great for a variety of reasons. I've missed a substantial number of our weekday runs, and I think that has really prevented me from getting into the groove. We have struggled to find any consistency in our training, which I know is the single most important aspect of getting back into shape.
With 20 days to go, we have a short amount of time to get a lot of work done.
I’m sorry I made your 10 miler interesting 🙁 🙁 🙁
Negatron, part of the training game
Running again tomorrow with my scraped hands, knee and shoulder. My longest since last fall was 7 or 8 miles. Hoping for 9 this weekend and 11 the next.
Thats dedication!
