Hello! Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days, life has been very... busy and interesting.

On Saturday I took a quietly planned afternoon as an opportunity to set out on the first bike ride of the season. Brindy met up with me for the trip down to the outer harbor, taking advantage of the new water taxi that shuttles bikers across the Erie Canal Terminus.

We were across the water in under five minutes, which opened up a beautiful area for biking along the outer harbor. It is amazing to see how much effort has been put into the development of public spaces in that area. There is absolutely beautiful bike trails and places to sit and watch the boats come in and out, with probably the best view of the Lake front in the whole area.

We also stumbled upon the old Union Ship Canal park which has added a nice little bike loop to explore. It was pretty awesome to just stumble into a brownfield reclamation project that i had no idea existed.

Biking around Buffalo is full of surprises. A twenty mile ride showed once again that the city is on its way back, and with the amount of people down at the inner and outer harbor, I think most people would agree.
