It typically starts with either a google chat message or text, often with a link to a website like New England Triathlon. This was the case back in January when my brother texted our thread that a September triathlon out on the cape was on the table. See exhibit A, B and C.

Not only did I jump at the chance, having lost all of our races in 2020 like the rest of the world, we upped the ante a little bit and signed up for the Olympic distance. That's right -- ~.9 mile swim, 20+ mile bike, and a 10k run. How exciting. Needless to say, I dragged my feet as long as possible, but training has officially begun.Week one is in the books, and I've been using the TrainingPeaks platform with integration to Garmin and Zwift for workout tracking. I'll probably do a more in-depth review of my experience on these platforms at some point in the future, but for now it seems pretty nice to manage all of the workouts needed to get me through this in one piece.

Are any of you guys signed up for your first race back following loosening COVID restrictions? I think more and more races are being put on the calendar so let me know what you guys have on deck!
